After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, is plotting to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from the Bat-mark in the season finale, we never got our Robert Pattinson cameo in The Penguin. In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where the hell was Batman? According to showrunner Lauren LeFranc, Batman won’t be in the show. “I understand why people would want Batman or think that if Batman wasn’t in the show or the movie, it wouldn’t have the same impact. I think it has a different impact. Matt sees his movies through Batman’s glasses, so if you’re up high, you’re looking down on the city. It’s another perspective. You’re on the streets of the city with Oz, in the gravel, the dirt, and the mud. He’s looking up, wanting to claw his way up.” The DC Studios logo is on a rainy Gotham alley. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to Warner Bros. The Graham Norton Show stars: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024). It matched the tone and mood perfectly. It’s gritty, gritty and dark, but Farrell manages to capture the glow of Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano charm. There are similarities to the Sopranos, especially in the tone. There’s a lot of dark stuff going on in this opening sequence, but there are still some comedic moments that fit the tone and don’t detract from it. Let’s start with Farrell. Amazing is the right word. I love watching talented actors star in roles like this, and the makeup/cgi or whatever it is they did to turn her into a penguin not only passes the eye test, but also looks incredibly realistic. There’s always the risk that if the makeup job isn’t good enough or is a little off, it’ll be a complete distraction. In Penguin, it enhances his performance and the overall quality of the show, because it’s a damn good job. And Farrell, as an actor, completely immersed himself in this role. Maybe I’m a little biased because he was one of my favorite actors before the show, but I think he’ll get the praise he deserves for it. I’m never one to jump right into a new series because I like to watch them. episodes right away, but I wanted to see how it actually turned out. It didn’t disappoint, in fact, I was impressed.
